There’s the triple double. The hat trick. The hole-in-one. But if you ask me, one of the greatest single game feats in any sport is hitting for the cycle. Thursday night, Mookie Betts joined Red Sox greats like Ted Williams, Bobby Doerr, and Carl Yastrzemski on the list of former Red Sox players to achieve one of sports’ most impressive accomplishments. Sure, anyone who’s seeing the ball well can get a single, double and a home run (let’s face it, the faster it comes in, the faster it goes out). BUT…a triple? That’s hard to do considering you have some of the strongest arms in the game throwing the ball back into the infield.
I know the age old saying is “Chicks dig the Long Ball,” but You Betts Believe it’s time for the ladies to re-prioritize.
